The A4Q Certified Professional Digital Accessibility certification is a globally recognized qualification designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills to ensure digital accessibility in line with international standards such as WCAG, EN 301 549, and the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which became effective on June 28, 2025. This certification provides a foundation-level understanding of accessibility principles, legal frameworks, technical criteria, testing methodologies, and user-centered design approaches. It is relevant for web developers, UX/UI designers, content managers, QA testers, product managers, legal compliance officers, and strategic decision-makers involved in digital products and services.

Note: The A4Q Certified Professional for Digital Accessibility syllabus and exam have also been localized for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). The German-language syllabus reflects not only EU-wide requirements but also national laws and standards, including:

  • Germany: BITV (Barrierefreie Informationstechnik-Verordnung), BGG (Disability Equality Act), BFSG (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, effective June 28, 2025), BMAS guidelines, and the BITV-Testreferenz.
  • Austria: WZG (Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz) and BGStG (Federal Disability Equality Act).
  • Switzerland: BehiG, VbgeB, and relevant eCH standards for accessible digital federal services.
