We offer two Spanish language versions of the exam: Latin American Spanish (LATAM) and European Spanish. Please note that when booking a Spanish exam through the website, the Latin American Spanish (LATAM) version will be assigned by default. How do I obtain the ISTQB® CT‑GenAI certification?
To be certified, you must pass the ISTQB® Certified Tester - Testing with Generative AI (CT‑GenAI) exam.
Step 1 – Prepare for the certification exam You can choose one of two preparation paths:
1. Attend an accredited training course
- Accredited training providers deliver courses based on the official ISTQB® CT‑GenAI syllabus.
- Training covers all examinable topics, including prompt engineering, AI risk management, Generative AI test infrastructure, and organizational adoption.
2. Self-study using the official syllabus (download here) Study chapters on:
- Introduction to Generative AI and LLMs in testing
- Prompt engineering techniques for test design and automation
- Managing AI-specific risks (hallucinations, bias, data privacy)
- RAG, fine-tuning, and AI-powered test agents
- GenAI strategy and integration in testing organizations
Step 2 – Test your knowledge

Step 3 – Take the exam
You can take the ISTQB® CT‑GenAI certification exam:
- Format: 40 multiple-choice questions
- Duration: 60 minutes (+25% extra for non-native English speakers)
- Pass mark: 65%
- Languages: English (other languages coming soon!)
- Delivery: Online via iSQI FLEX (remote proctoring) or at Pearson Vue Test Centres Worldwide (coming soon!)
- Validity: Lifetime - the certification does not expire
