An updated syllabus (v2.3) comes into effect on 1 October 2025. The syllabus and its associated handbook (v2.2) are available to download.
There will be a transition period until 31 December 2025 for exams based on the old syllabus. During this period, you can choose whether to take the exam based on the old (v2.2) or new (v2.3) curriculum.
From 1 January 2026, exams can only be taken according to the current curriculum (v2.3).
Requirements engineers analyse, document and manage the requirements of all those participating in a project. They therefore establish a connection between the requirements of the customer, developer, tester and user. When preparing to take the IREB Certified Professional for Requirement Engineering, Advanced Level RE@Agile - Practitioner - you will understand and apply practices and techniques from the Requirements Engineering discipline in agile development processes.
How do I obtain the IREB certification?

As of 1 August 2025 a new CPRE Elicitation Specialist (Version 3.1.0) task description will come into effect. IREB has added a section reflecting on the use of AI.
During the transition period from 1 August 2025 to 31 January 2026, candidates will have the option of submitting written assignments based on either the current version (3.0.x) or the new version (3.1.0).
From 1 February 2026 onwards, only version 3.1.0 will be valid.
