How do I obtain the certification?

Attending the accredited training course is not mandatory before taking the exam but recommended. The accredited training course will provide relevant content and topics clearly explained and taught. You have to pass the Certified DevSecOps Professional exam to obtain the certification. Training will be available as online- or e-training as well as on-site training. The exam is available on online proctored channels.

What are the entry requirements?

It is recommended that you have some basic knowledge of DevOps and the Software Development Lifecycle. Rudimentary working knowledge of scripting is beneficial but not essential.

Taking the Certified DevOps Professional Level exam is highly recommended.There are no specific requirements or required pre-certifications. It is not mandatory to attend a training at a recognised Training Partner. Self-study, as preparation for the exam, is permitted.

How does this certification benefit me?

The course is designed and centered around hands-on labs to guide attendees to a „learning by doing“ approach.

The structure of the course focuses on facilitating discussions, workshops, lab exercises – it is practically orientated and based on real-world challenges and stories.

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Embed Security in the pipelines by introducing SCA, SAST, DAST, Compliance as a Code, and various other tools and techniques that help strengthen your organization’s security posture

  • Explore the various DevSecOps reference models so to understand that DevSecOps is not a ‘one type fits all’ approach, and how to navigate through challenging implementations
  • Understand the evolution behind traditional security practices, tooling, principles, and maturity models and how they compare to the practices, tooling, principles, and maturity models of DevSecOps
  • Being able to envision and implement a DevSecOps program at scale and at enterprise by balancing the security and velocity
  • Being able to apply a shift left approach in ‘security’ as code, build, and infrastructure
  • Understand the essential skills to apply sensible security automation practices early on and in the various stages of the Software Development Lifecycle
