The internationally recognized ISTQB® Certified Tester - Expert Level, Improving the Test Process (CTEL-ITP) certification, attests to your comprehensive knowledge in the field of software testing with a specialism in the field of test process improvement. You will be able to demonstrate that you can evaluate the testing process and integrate improvements into existing processes.

The ISTQB® Expert Level Improving the Test Process (CTEL-ITP) certification comprises 2 parts:

• Part 1: Assessing the Test Process
• Part 2: Implementing Test Process Improvement

Part 2, Implementing Test Process Improvement, covers creating and integrating plans for improvement, both in terms of personal skills and organizational considerations, and the execution of approaches for improvement so that they can take place effectively and stand the best chance of success.

How do I obtain this ISTQB® Certification

Each of the two parts of the ISTQB® CTEL-ITP has a separate certification exam. BOTH exams must be passed to gain full CTEL-ITP certification.

You can prepare for both CTEL-ITP exams by attending accredited training for ISTQB® Certified Tester - Improving the Testing Process; participants will have relevant content and topics clearly explained and taught to them.

You may also self-study using the syllabus and mock exams (we would also suggest your refer to the ISTQB® - Expert Level Exam Structure and Rules document).

An Expert Level certificate is valid for 7 years.

What are the entry requirements?

To obtain the ISTQB® CTEL-ITP certification, candidates must have:

• the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certificate
• the ISTQB® Advanced Level Test Manager (CTAL-TM) certificate
• exam passes in BOTH parts: Part 1 - Assessing the Test Processes and Part 2 - Implementing Test Process Improvement
• at least 5 years of practical testing experience
• at least 2 years of industry experience in Test Process Improvement.

Who is this certification for?

Expert Level certification is aimed at those who have already achieved an advanced point in their careers in software testing and wish to develop further their expertise in a specific area. It is particularly suitable for software testers with a clearly defined professional goal.

ISTQB® Improving the Test Process - Implementing Test Process Improvement (CTEL-ITP-ITPI) helps prepare individuals to fulfill the specific expert role within their organization or project, and more specifically to ensure that the implementation of test process improvements within their organization or project takes place effectively and stands the best chance of success. It covers the improvement process, organization considerations, change management, and success factors.
